<trans-abstract xml:lang="en"><p>The erector spinae plane block (ESPB) is a modern regional analgesia method that is promising for use in pediatric practice. A case of successful use of ESPB in a 5-year-old child with pleural empyema during thoracoscopic sanitation is presented. The block was performed once before the operation without the use of systemic opioids, which ensured adequate analgesia in the intra- and postoperative periods. The potential of ESPB as an effective and safe technique of multimodal analgesia in thoracic interventions in children has demonstrated by obtained results. The clinical case description is presented in the Republic of Belarus for the first time.</p></trans-abstract><kwd-group xml:lang="ru"><kwd>блокада пространства разгибателей спины</kwd><kwd>дети</kwd><kwd>регионарная анестезия</kwd><kwd>эмпиема плевры</kwd><kwd>торакоскопия</kwd><kwd>опиоид-сберегающая тактика</kwd></kwd-group><kwd-group xml:lang="en"><kwd>erector spinae plane block</kwd><kwd>children</kwd><kwd>regional anesthesia</kwd><kwd>pleural empyema</kwd><kwd>thoracoscopy</kwd><kwd>opioid-sparing tactics</kwd></kwd-group></article-meta></front><back><ref-list><title>References</title><ref id="cit1"><label>1</label><citation-alternatives><mixed-citation xml:lang="ru">P1.
