Abstract

In the International Classification of Diseases, 10th revision, sarcoidosis is classified under the category of diseases of the blood, hematopoietic organs, and immunological disorders.

Described nearly 150 years ago, this disease remains enigmatic and often poses complex differential diagnostic challenges for pulmonologists, urologists, ophthalmologists, dermatologists, cardiologists, neurologists, and gynecologists. This review describes the key stages of studying this pathology, its diverse manifestations, and emphasizes the important role of individual researchers in diagnosing the various manifestations of sarcoidosis.
